I had an epiphany today while I was doing dishes. I saw a display of the glory of God in my sink.
It will never cease to amaze me how something so normal, so mundane, can suddenly be transformed before our eyes into unexpected beauty. Hidden within the “everyday” are the most powerful displays of spiritual truth when we have eyes to see.
The Bible teaches us that the very first thing God created when he made the world is light. Science tells us that everything in the universe is made of “quanta,” or waves of light energy. When the Bible says that we were created “for his glory,” that is not a figure of speech. The glory of God is literally all around us, in everything and everyone.
How much glory is veiled from our eyes because we are not trained to see it? How many seemingly “mundane moments” actually seem mundane to us because they speak of things that are too great for us to understand?
Let’s change the way we perceive our world, and watch as our experience of life is deepened in ways we couldn’t imagine.
